It's February and already I'm on board the fail train. First off school sucks hardcore, I'm always getting distracted in class by the stock market. Secondly I have about 300~ in my bank account with roughly 2700 in debts with visa and 4000 in my investment portfolio. PLUS I'm unemployed .I keep asking myself why don't i just pay off the debts so I don't have to worry about it.
This investment game is such a huge risk and I could lose all of it any minute. In fact i have 3000 riding on a stock that i know is going to fail hard and I don't even know what to do... should i wait or should i take the loss. My instincts tell me to take the loss but experience tells me to hold off. In past i've sold at loss only to kick myself a few days later when it recovers. In fact I wasn't able to get out of this stock because I haven't watched it closely enough... man this sux . I'm hooked on like cocaine... I don't even know if i can last till the end of this month with that much bad debt and this addiction. fail fail fail fail =(

Thank god I'm doing a cisco certification instead of a nortel certification... Although with nortel filing for Chapter 11 I'm sure it's going to affect me somehow...
Other than that I'm already looking forward to summer and making plans. So far I have
Fishing
That's right folks, I've been itching to fish for the longest time. Something about sitting there like a rock, photosynthesizing the sun's rays, and then being suddenly attacked by a bear appeals to me. I've fished since I was 11 and have liked it since (Even though I've hooked myself twice with the fishhook while a worm squirmed around my open wound). Every evening I'd head to the polluted Fraser river and catch one or two whitefish and on occasion a salmon. The fish somehow survived the pollution in the river and I somehow survived eating the fish. However that maybe the source of my eccentricity.
PS. I also drank from that river...once...

Half the time I'm not really sure what I'm doing. It's so easy to get distracted. If only being distracted was a job, I'd totally apply for it.

Today was the first day of winter semester and boy was it dreadful. The professors all seem pretty nice and all but the same can't be said about my classmates. The class itself was larger than I had expected 30+ students as opposed to my estimated 20 or less. The problem with 30+ students in an IT program is you have a higher chance of having super annoying nerds. That's right I said it super annoying nerds. The ones who make remarks about everything and everyone. I had the ill-fated luck to sit next beside one because I strolled in 5 minutes late *typical*. He was so annoying i wanted to punch him in the face but thought twice about it when I saw a tattoo on his scrawny left arm.
Other than that classes seemed promising as we went over some of the course outlines. Holy mother of all that is holy is it packed with material. I mean if I compared this to a cheeseburger this would have been a triple no QUADROOPLE Cheesbuger with an extra large side of fries.
Some things I'm excited to learn.
Scripting Language
- Perl
- Visual Basic Script
- Dos batch files
- Powershell
- Active Directory
- Linux/Unix Servers
- none
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quotes from today's lecture from a single prof which I thought were hilarious
we call them licensed end users but to IT professionals they're called L-users (pronounced losers)
School computers - drive it like a rental (Never thought of it that way but sure)
Smite me with your +3 marble sword show me your knowledge (oh god wtf prof do I have, first thing he said was he was a uber nerd)
